Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on modality that releases tension in the body that may have been caused by restricted movements in utero, a difficult pregnancy, or birth trauma. Releasing tension throughout the body can improve whole body function and well being.

The focus of CST is a gentle placement of hands to assist release of the body’s connective tissue, or “fascia.” Fascia is a covering found throughout the body including organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord. This covering forms a body-wide connective network. CST is based on the idea that the body is interrelated at all levels.

Craniosacral Therapy is one of the most gentle yet effective modalities available for newborns.

Most of the referrals for CST are from paediatricians and lactation consultants who have an awareness of the positive impact that this modality can have on babies, but you do not need a referral for CST. The therapy can help a newborn for a variety of issues, whether it be for improved sleep, painful latch, feeding, colic, flat head, among others.

A typical treatment plan is between 1- 8 sessions. Early intervention is recommended but it is never too late to implement Craniosacral Therapy for your baby or child.

** PLEASE NOTE: Mark Levine also offers Craniosacral Therapy as a part of his Manual Therapy Practice. Book with Mark through the Osteopathy/Manual Therapy or https://thewombvaughan.janeapp.com/#/osteopathy-manual-therapy

·       families whose chosen birth hospital is not yet re-opened to physical doula support
·       families who have not expanded their circle of care beyond their immediate family

Virtual support includes:

·       a tailored approach to support
·       cheat sheet handouts and links to research and resources

Scar Release Treatment!

What is it?
• An efficient and non-invasive method of healing all scars, even those from caesarean sections (c-sections) using the Dolphin Neurostim Device for MPS Therapy
• Assists in reducing scar tenderness and pain.
• Increases tissue blood flow, sensation, and elasticity.
• Enhances functional outcomes, such as tissue strength and healing.

How Does It Work?
• The Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) releases low level electrical impulses along that scar that increases the tissue's intercellular metabolism, protein synthesis, and healing function to accelerate the tissue's regeneration process.
• It assists in reducing muscular and fascial adhesions and restrictions resulting in a less painful and softer scar with increased overall mobility.
• With the help of this treatment, the patient can resume daily activities with minimal pain.
*Please note, the MPS is not recommended for the following conditions: pregnancy, pacemaker, prosthetics, or tumours and cancers.

FAQ
1. When Can I start?
- As early as 6 week post-surgery.
- As late as 20 years+ after surgery.

2. Is it Covered by Insurance?
- Yes, as a chiropractic doctor will be using this technique as part of their treatment plan.

3. Does Treatment Hurt?
- Treatment can cause mild to moderate discomfort.

4. How Many Visits are Required?
- It depends on the size, depth, and sensitivity of the scar.

5. What Other Types of Scars are Treated?
- Breast reduction, amputations, appendectomy, hysterectomy and shoulder, elbow, knee, hip surgery and more.
